Why do people become infatuated with “ Gossip Girl”? Well the answer is so simple, because they will never live the life of an aristocrat's daughter or son, and possibly they will never possess so many riches as to experience such kind of treatments and luxuries as shown in the series. In fact they live through these well developed characters their dream lives -rich, beautiful, powerful, respected. No matter how well written or not the series is , they will continue to follow it for it provides a glorious fixation from their everyday lives and misery, glorious sex scandals for the sexually deprived mid-western teen, success and social acceptance for the average geek, a hot rich chick for the upcoming and talented artist. Everyone sees their uttermost dreams and wants come true during these 40 minutes and then they await patiently for another fixation , to escape from their cruel reality.
